GE60 P2E Steel Series keyboard doesnt light up

One day after use, I shut down the computer and went to work. 

I come home to find the computer still shut down, but the keyboard is still lit up. I take the battery out and then it shuts off.

So i try and restart and then shut down again.. same thing ...
