GE70 0ND-402CA would like to "upgrade" to Windows 7 or possibly make a dual boot

I've come to the decision that Windows 8 really is the devil.  Is there any issues I should be aware of before formatting and installing Windows 7 Home Edition?  I'm also considering going with a dual boot setup with Windows 7 and Ubuntu.
