don't worry, The MB could boot up your CPU with i5 4690K CPU out of the box even when it still got the old bios..but you still need to update the bios to fully support this CPU..

Don't really have an answer for that. Corsair is normally a very good brand to use, and work well on MSI mainboards. They should replace the complete kit again for you.
